The Commission is no longer active; this page records how it could be reached and explains the status of the restored site.

The Commission's published address

The Citizens' Debate Commission listed a single mailing address on every page of its website:

Citizens' Debate Commission, P.O. Box 57272, Washington, DC 20036

Media inquiries were directed to George Farah, executive director of Open Debates, the nonpartisan organization that helped form the Commission and issued its press releases from the National Press Building. The individual email address and telephone numbers printed on the original page and releases are not reproduced here, as they are two decades old and were personal to the staff involved. For background on the presidential debate process, the original page referred readers to Open Debates at opendebates.org.

About this restored archive

This site is a restoration of citizensdebates.org as it stood in the Internet Archive's captures of 2013, when the pages were still exactly as published in 2004. It is maintained as a historical record of the Commission's plan, membership and advisory board, which continue to be cited in discussions of presidential debate reform. The Commission itself did not sponsor any debates and has not issued statements since 2004.

Nothing on this site should be read as a current position of the Commission or of any person or organization named on it. Where the restored pages add context, it is placed under a heading marked as an editorial note.
